Governance, Risk & Compliance

Turn risk and compliance into a management system the business can actually use.

BCS helps organisations establish decision rights, risk ownership, policy architecture, control governance and ongoing compliance management so leaders can see what matters, who owns it and what needs to happen next.

The challenge

Compliance activity can be busy and still leave management without control.

Policies may exist without clear owners. Risk registers may record issues without driving decisions. Compliance tasks can become periodic exercises disconnected from operational priorities. When governance is fragmented, the organisation struggles to explain who can accept risk, who owns remediation, which controls matter and how compliance is maintained between audits.

BCS focuses on the operating model behind GRC — the structures, roles, decision rights and evidence needed to make governance visible and repeatable.

What BCS delivers

Governance that connects policy, risk, controls and accountability.

GOVERNANCE

Decision rights and accountability

Define who owns risk, who approves exceptions, who operates controls and how issues escalate.

RISK

Enterprise risk visibility

Structure assessments, risk criteria, ownership and treatment so risk information supports decisions rather than sitting in a register.

POLICY

Policy architecture

Develop a coherent hierarchy of policies, standards and procedures linked to business obligations and control expectations.

COMPLIANCE

Ongoing compliance management

Translate regulatory and contractual requirements into accountable activities, evidence and monitoring routines.

Key areas of support

Build the management structure around technology risk.

Governance framework designCommittees, decision rights, roles, escalation and reporting structures.
Enterprise risk assessmentsRisk identification, analysis, treatment, ownership and reporting.
Policy developmentPolicies, standards, procedures and lifecycle governance.
Control governanceControl ownership, evidence expectations, exceptions and issue management.

Compliance programme managementMaintain obligations, monitoring routines, remediation and executive visibility over time.
How we work

Start with how decisions are made, not with a stack of templates.

01 — UNDERSTAND

Map the context

Review obligations, current governance, risk practices, ownership and pain points.

02 — DESIGN

Build the model

Define decision rights, risk structures, policy architecture, controls and reporting.

03 — EMBED

Put governance into use

Assign owners, implement processes, create registers and establish routines.

04 — SUSTAIN

Measure and improve

Track risk, compliance, exceptions, remediation and management information over time.

Who this is for

Especially useful where responsibility is spread across multiple teams.

Executives and risk leadersWho need clearer decision rights, accountability and reporting across technology risk.
Security and IT teamsWho need a governance structure that supports rather than obstructs delivery.
Organisations facing new obligationsWhere new regulation, certification or customer requirements need to be operationalised.
Growing organisationsWhere informal governance is no longer sufficient for the scale or risk profile of the business.
FAQ

Common questions.

Do you provide GRC software?

BCS is vendor-neutral. The focus is the governance model, risk process and control structure. Technology can support that model, but it should not define it.

Can you work with our existing policies and risk registers?

Yes. The objective is not to replace useful material unnecessarily. We assess what exists, identify gaps and rationalise the structure around the organisation’s current needs.

Is GRC only for regulated organisations?

No. Regulation increases the pressure, but clear governance and risk ownership are valuable in any organisation where technology risk matters.

Can you support ongoing compliance after the initial project?

Yes. Engagement models can include project, retainer or embedded support to help maintain monitoring, remediation and reporting.

Make risk ownership visible and compliance operational.

Start with the governance problem, regulatory pressure or risk-management gap that needs structure.
